Dr. Patrick J. Landry, Chiropractor
My interest in Health and Fitness developed as an athlete at an early age. I grew up in a family who enjoyed eating healthy and being physically active. It was a great foundation for a lifetime of healthy living. Since my early teens, I gravitated to the sports of football and judo. However, running and weight lifting were always a foundation to my fitness. My football career ended at Michigan State University, after winning the 1988 Rose Bowl, while running, lifting, and judo training continued through the years.
Lifting weights in the gym and going for long runs, alone, became increasingly boring. Stumbling upon CrossFit in 2008, I found the missing link in my quest for ongoing fitness. At the time this was an innovated approach to fitness that has revolutionized the gym/personal training industry. With scaling, this approach can challenge virtually anyone in a fun and compelling way. The workouts can be scaled or modified to the needs and abilities of a child as well as a senior citizen; from the unfit to the Olympic athlete.
After being a CrossFit Affiliate for 9 years, I decided break the affiliation and continue on my own. My approach hasn't changed, but the name of my gym changed to Latrobe StrengthFit. Whether you simply want to get more fit, lose a few pounds, learn some new skills or become a competitive athlete, I believe that we have something for you and we are prepared to show you how.
As your coach, I bring a unique blend of experience, training methodology and professional insight. I've been trained professionally to rehabilitate injured bodies and worn out parts, I have spent nearly 30 years teaching people how to exercise. I have introduced 80-year-olds to strength training and wellness exercise. I have worked with and taught athletes how to improve form and avoid injury in a variety of athletic interests. My athletic experiences give me the insight needed to know how to motivate and train you to be more successful in your quest for fitness. Playing sports, football and judo, at a competitive level through college, I've learned how to raise the bar to help athletes reach their potential. Teaching judo for more than 25 years, I have learned how to work with a 5-year-old and a 60-year-old athlete at the same time, challenging both while helping everyone have fun.
My goal in life: is to die young, at an old age.

Dr. Phillip A. Westerbeck, Chiropractor
Growing up in Eastern Iowa, I was fortunate to marry my high school sweet heart, together we are raising 5 sons: Colton, Brock, Drake, Ian, and Quinton.
Influenced by the fact that my father was a chiropractor, I have always been blessed with good health. I was taught that good food, exercise, and adequate sleep, are foundations of optimal health. I was also taught that when facing life decisions, rarely is the easy path, the right path. Believe me, I should know, I've tested this theory a few times. At an early age, I decided to follow in my fathers footsteps and become a Chiropractor. I think my wife would agree, this has not been the easiest path in life, but the right one.
My decision to become a chiropractor, lead me to Latrobe. While building a business and raising 5 boys, my life got busier. I began to pay less attention to taking care of my self. When I noticed that the things that I had always enjoyed, were becoming less enjoyable, I knew that I had to make some changes.
My business partner, Dr. Pat, introduced me to CrossFit. There are 2 things about this program that peaked my interest:
I can tell you from experience, this approach is not an easy path to better health; It can be a humbling experience initially. However, after the first year and a half, I was in better shape than I had been for 20. I can attest, from a professional and personal view point, it is the right path to better health.
Come and join us, and find out what we can do for you. I promise that you won't be bored.

- It doesn't take a huge time commitment (work-outs average less than 30 minutes),
- It is varies enough that I don't get bored (I get bored easy).

Dr. Randy Orr, Psychiatrist
My personal fitness journey began at a young age. My parents placed a value on physical fitness, then led by example (Dad played collegiate soccer and ran, Mom took martial arts and taught aerobics). I was also influenced by the time and culture I grew up in: He-man, Rambo, and Schwarzenegger all had an impact on my idea of what was “normal”. I participated in many sports, but didn’t excel in any one. I began running with my Dad around 12, and started lifting weights at 14. I loved the idea that if you worked hard and consistently, you achieved results. At age 15, I decided to stop eating junk and try to “eat healthy” (although my idea of healthy eating has changed many times over the years).
After 25 years of training the same way (lift, run, repeat), I wanted to challenge myself with something new and different. I began researching CrossFit, and loved the variability of this program. l also appreciated the lack of specialization in any one area, as CrossFit training promotes improvement in all aspects of fitness. I finally took the leap of faith in March of 2016 by joining CrossFit Latrobe. Through the excellent coaching from Pat and Phil, I saw improvements in all aspects of my fitness.
I have seen the devastating effects depression and anxiety can have on people’s lives. I have also learned the positive effects exercise has on our thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Studies have repeatedly shown that exercise helps our brains work better and combats the symptoms of mild to moderate depression and anxiety. Functional fitness adds a supportive and social benefit. No one is off in a corner, doing his or her own routine. We all prepare, learn, endure, and ultimately celebrate our achievements together. If we miss a class or are injured, others express concern. We are all lifting each other up and pushing each other forward-forging friendships as we Forge Elite Fitness.
My coaching philosophy is one of positivity and encouragement. We all lead very stressful lives outside of the gym, our workouts should not be another source of stress for us. As a StrengthFit coach, I have a unique opportunity to help others reach their goals and feel better about themselves. Success is not measured in a stronger dead-lift or a faster Fran time, but in how these achievements help to create a more capable, confident, and happy person. That person then has a positive effect on all the people he or she comes in contact with throughout his or her day. Ultimately, we are all working to make our little corner of the world a happier and healthier place.
