After running a CrossFit Affiliate from 2012 thru 2020, we've re-imagined our programming, creating a better balance between Strength and Fitness, built on a foundation of a healthy diet. While we've made some changes, we're still much the same!

What is Latrobe Strength-Fit?
  • A place where you will become more fit than you ever thought possible.
  • It is a strength and conditioning program based upon the functional movements of gymnastics, weight lifting, running and rowing. 
  • Movements are constantly varied and performed at high intensity. 
  • These methods of exercise have been proven effective, with empirical evidence, by professional and Olympic athletes, as well as by moms, dads, and teens worldwide.
  • A place where you will be taught how to push yourself and learn new exercises.
  • A place where you will be motivated and will help motivate others.
  • A place where fitness becomes addictive.

Who can do it?
  • Our program is universal scalability and the perfect application for any committed individual, regardless of experience, looking to become more fit. 
  • We've used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease as well as competitive athletes.  We scale the load and intensity; we don't change programs.
  • The needs of an Olympic athlete and our grandparents differ by degree, not kind. Military special forces, skiers, mountain bike riders and housewives have found their best fitness from the same type of programming.

How we do it?
  • We teach structured classes performed in group settings.  After all, no athlete can do their best when training alone. 
  • We have created a community atmosphere that is fun and supportive.  
  • Private lessons and small group programming are available by request.

What are Functional Movements?
  • Universal motor recruitment patterns that are natural, effective and safe.  They are multi-joint movements that the body was designed to perform.
  • They are the basis for production of power.  Power is related to intensity.
  • They have carryover to everyday life: like carrying a 5 gallon bottle of water into the house or putting a heavy box onto the closet shelf overhead.

Constantly Varied:
  • Doing the same exercise routines, day by day and week after week, fails to yield results.  To become a better reader, you wouldn't read the same book every day.  Rather you would pick up a different book each day to best stimulate your brain.  Exercise works similarly!
  • Makes exercise fun!
  • Prepares your body for the unknown, like assisting an injured person, shoveling snow or changing a tire.  

High Intensity:
  • Produces results.  Maximizing intensity will maximize what you seek, whether that be to: lose weight, look more fit and or become more athletic.
  • High intensity shortens the time spent during exercise.  Who wants to waste 2 hours exercising when you can get better results and be finished within 20 minutes.
